AzerGold QSC has presented a new collection of gold and silver coins dedicated to the Kelbajar district — a region with rich nature, mineral springs, ancient history and cultural heritage.

The artistic composition of the collection incorporates national ornaments reflecting the cultural heritage, nature, ancient folklore traditions, art and folk creativity of Kelbajar.

One of the main elements of the coin's design is an ornament from an ancient Kelbajar mefresh from the late 19th century. A mefresch is a traditional carpet item woven using an ancient carpet-weaving technique and used to store and transport household belongings.

The border framing the composition is inspired by a honeycomb motif, referring to Kelbajar's ancient beekeeping traditions, its renowned mountain honey and the region's rich natural resources.

Another element is 17 symmetrical lines in the upper and lower parts of the coin. They symbolize the frets of the traditional saz, referring to the ancient ashug art and traditions of playing the saz.

The commemorative coin dedicated to Kelbajar reflects the region's nature, history and national-cultural heritage through contemporary numismatic art. The concept of the coin expresses both Kelbajar's historical memory and the region's revival and outlook toward the future.

The new collection is another example of the series of commemorative coins issued on the initiative of AzerGold QSC. The products are made from gold and silver of 999.9 fineness mined in the country, in different weights. The gold coins are available in weights of 5, 10 and 20 grams, while the silver coin weighs 20 grams.

The Kelbajar collection can be purchased at the AzerGold QSC Sales and Exchange Center at 3 Bulbul Avenue, Baku, as well as on the company's online sales platform.

It is worth noting that the production of coins of various designs from gold and silver mined in Azerbaijan, as well as gold bars, began in 2018. The products have been available on the local retail market since 2019. AzerGold QSC's product portfolio currently includes 27 collections — 15 gold and 12 silver.
