Houthis plan to intensify strikes on Saudi Arabia
The Houthis intend to intensify strikes on Saudi territory to force an end to military operations by Riyadh, military spokesman Yahya Saree said.

The Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis), which controls northern Yemen, intends to intensify strikes on Saudi territory to force an end to military operations by Riyadh. The Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced this on October 11.
"We will continue operations with escalating intensity deep inside Saudi territory, steadfastly following the principle of 'blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation' … until the aggression ends and the blockade is lifted," his statement is quoted by the Telegram channel of the Houthi armed forces.
The statement came amid continuous attacks from Yemen on airports in the kingdom, including the airport in Riyadh. Over two days, these attacks killed 15 people.
Escalation after a four-year lull
Military operations between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia intensified in August after a four-year lull. They began after the Houthis started attacking Saudi tankers in the Red Sea in response to shelling of Sanaa airport by the Yemeni army, which is backed by Riyadh.
