Head of the Sheki City Executive Authority Elxan Usubov gave detailed information on the results achieved in agriculture in the district and the tasks ahead. He said that the goals set out in the State Programme create important opportunities for making more efficient use of the district's existing agricultural potential, implementing new projects, expanding existing farms and developing entrepreneurship. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zaur Aliyev provided information on the main goals of the State Programme, the measures envisaged across various areas of agriculture and the state support mechanisms. He noted that the current period will focus on increasing productivity, using resources more efficiently, strengthening links between production and processing sectors, and raising farmers' incomes. The deputy minister added that the Agrarian Subsidy Council's decision of 7 September 2026 updated subsidy mechanisms in crop farming, livestock and fisheries, and changes were made to existing support conditions for farmers. The new mechanisms are aimed at expanding the application of modern irrigation technologies, increasing productivity, developing processing and export-oriented production, improving the breed composition in livestock farming and strengthening food security. The importance of farmers making effective use of state support mechanisms was emphasised. The consultation also discussed livestock development, land consolidation, agricultural credits, seed imports, provision of agricultural machinery, implementation of new investment projects, the fight against pests in agriculture and other issues, and views were exchanged.
