TEKNOFEST Festival Opens in Şanlıurfa

On September 30, 2026, the TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu aviation, space and technology festival began at GAP Airport in Şanlıurfa. Organizers describe it as the world's largest festival in this field. The event, hosted by Şanlıurfa, will run through October 4.

The event is spread across an area of 191,000 sq. m. Its program includes the finals of technological competitions in 14 categories.

What visitors will see

The program is designed for participants of all ages, from high-tech simulators to scientific workshops. SOLOTÜRK, Türk Yıldızları and fighter aircraft will perform in the sky, along with the Jandarma Çelik Kanatlar aerobatic team and paramotor teams.

The site will feature ATAK, HÜRKUŞ, ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar AKINCI aircraft, as well as various ground and maritime vehicles. The program includes concerts, stage shows, educational workshops, simulation zones, a planetarium, science shows, the TEKNOFEST Time Tunnel and special first flights for schoolchildren.

The festival's first day

On the opening day, in addition to the ceremony, the program includes a parachute jump, a flag-bearing welcoming flight, an SH-70 Fastrope demonstration, an ATAK flypast, and demonstration flights by Bayraktar AKINCI and TB3.

Admission to TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu is completely free, but visitors must register online in advance. Festival areas are open from 09.00 to 19.00, with free public transport organized to the site.
