US President Donald Trump on October 6 attributed protests in France to allegedly uncontrolled migration and added that problems in the education system are not the cause. He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.
'What is happening in France is nothing other than uncontrolled mass migration,' Trump wrote, noting that 'it's not about the schools.'
Demonstrations in Paris
On the same day, several thousand people took part in a demonstration by school and university students in Paris called by student unions. According to reports from the scene, participants smashed offices and shop windows in the Boulevard Voltaire area, and the riots were accompanied by violent clashes with police.
High school students in France have been protesting for a second week against overcrowded schedules, teacher shortages and other problems in the education sector. Some actions have been accompanied by unrest.
According to the latest data, more than six thousand people were detained, most of them minors.
