The United States has transferred 13 small Skydio X10D unmanned aerial systems of American manufacture to Estonia to strengthen border security. This is reported by the media.
The corresponding agreement was signed in Tallinn on Monday by US Ambassador to Estonia Roman Pipko and Deputy Director General of the Police and Border Guard Board Veiko Kommusaar.
The transferred drones are compact and reconnaissance-capable and can be launched quickly. Daytime and thermal imaging cameras allow officers to monitor hard-to-reach areas around the clock.
Statement by the US Ambassador
This transfer of equipment testifies both to the United States' commitment to Estonia's security and to the professionalism that our Estonian partners demonstrate every day in their work.
This is how US Ambassador to Estonia Roman Pipko commented on the transfer of equipment.
Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that Western countries use false claims about a supposedly Russian threat to carry out militarization. He stressed that Moscow does not intend to fight with Europe, but if Europe wants war, Russia is ready for it "right now".
