Azerbaijani judoka Rashid Mammadaliyev wins bronze at World Championships
Rashid Mammadaliyev became a bronze medalist at the adult World Judo Championships, which is being held in Baku.

Azerbaijani judoka Rashid Mammadaliyev won a bronze medal at the adult World Championships in Baku in the under-73 kg weight category.
At the start of the tournament, Mammadaliyev defeated Canadian Castin Lemire in the round of 32 and advanced to the next stage. In the round of 16, he got the better of Britain's Etan Nairne.
In the quarterfinals, the Azerbaijani athlete met France's Daian Boulemtasov and suffered a defeat. After that, Mammadaliyev got the chance to continue his fight for the bronze medal.
In the consolation bout, he defeated Italy's Leonardo Valeriani. Mammadaliyev then faced Brazil's Daniel Cargnin and won, securing himself a bronze medal at the World Championships.
The World Championships are taking place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku and will end on October 11.
On the first day of the competition, Azerbaijani judoka Ahmed Yusifov won a gold medal in the under-60 kg weight category. That award became the fourth gold for Azerbaijani judokas at adult World Championships and the first gold in the under-60 kg category.
