Ukrainian children visit Gabala, Shamakhi and Sheki on rehabilitation trip

The Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has organised a trip to Gabala, Shamakhi and Sheki for 30 Ukrainian children as part of a social rehabilitation programme.

The Social Services Agency under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Labour and Social Protection is continuing rehabilitation measures for another 30 children brought from Ukraine. The announcement was made on 7 October 2026.

As part of the rehabilitation programme for the children, an excursion to Gabala, Shamakhi and Sheki was organised.

According to the ministry, during the trip the children visited the Tufandag recreation complex and the Gabaland entertainment centre in Gabala, an alpine ski resort in Shamakhi, and the Khan's Palace in Sheki. They were introduced to Azerbaijan's rich cultural and historical heritage and nature.

The children also visited the Ismailly branch of the DOST Evi Inclusive Development and Creativity Centre, where they took part in various master classes.

It is noted that the 10-day social rehabilitation programme is aimed at stabilising the children's emotional state, as well as supporting their integration into society.
