Belgian universities admit hundreds of Azerbaijani students each year – ambassador
Belgium's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Julien de Fraipont, said Belgian universities admit dozens and even hundreds of Azerbaijani students every year. He spoke at a briefing tied to the Study in Europe Fair in Baku.

Belgian universities admit dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of Azerbaijani students every year. Belgium's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Julien de Fraipont, said this at a briefing on 7 October dedicated to the Study in Europe Fair, which will be held on 10–11 October in Baku.
The ambassador noted that Belgium is a small country but has a strong university system. He pointed to a wide choice of specialisations, as well as educational and research opportunities at KU Leuven, Ghent University, the University of Antwerp and the University of Brussels.
According to de Fraipont, there is an active network of graduates of Belgian universities in Azerbaijan, and the embassy supports its activities.
"Studying in Belgium provides an experience that goes beyond purely academic opportunities. We offer a multilingual and international environment. While you study in Belgium, you are close to the institutions of the European Union, NATO and numerous international companies and organisations. I think this enriches the educational experience," the ambassador said.
He added that Belgium's well-developed transport links allow students to travel easily to other European countries.
The ambassador said the Belgian embassy will provide information about the country's educational opportunities at the fair. Representatives of UCLL University of Applied Sciences will take part in the event in person.
De Fraipont invited Azerbaijani young people to visit the fair and learn about educational opportunities in Belgium.
