F4media.az reports that training under the "Development of Women's Digital Skills" programme, aimed at integrating formerly incarcerated women into the modern labour market and expanding their digital opportunities, has begun.

The training is being carried out with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women's and Children's Affairs and organised by the "Return of Formerly Incarcerated Women to Society" Public Union and Maestro Academy.

Fifteen formerly incarcerated women are taking part in the programme, which will last three months. During the training, participants will receive knowledge in the use of digital tools, working with modern technologies and the formation of practical digital skills.

One of the important aspects of the project is that the training is not limited to theoretical knowledge. At the next stage of the programme, support is envisaged for the participants' employment. This approach serves to turn digital skills into real employment opportunities.

Digital skills create opportunities for a new beginning

The return of formerly incarcerated women to society is not completed merely by a change in their legal status. In the reintegration process, education, professional skills, social support and entry into the labour market are of particular importance. In this regard, teaching digital skills can create additional opportunities for women to build independent lives.

Especially at a time when the labour market is rapidly digitalising, the ability to use computers and other digital tools has become one of the main requirements for entering many fields of work. It is important that women are not left out of these opportunities, both for their economic independence and for their more active participation in social life.

The State Committee for Family, Women's and Children's Affairs also keeps the enhancement of women's digital skills and the expansion of their education, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities among its priority areas within the framework of various projects. The Committee emphasises that digital skills contribute to increasing women's competitiveness in the labour market and their economic independence.

In this regard, the new training programme can be assessed not merely as a course for formerly incarcerated women, but as a practical step towards reintegration into society, the restoration of self-confidence and economic independence.

At the end of the project, the conversion of the knowledge acquired by participants into real job opportunities will further increase the social impact of the programme. Because for sustainable reintegration, it is important not only to give a person a second chance, but also to create the knowledge, skills and work opportunities to realise that chance.
