Russian Government Approves Bioeconomy Development Strategy Through 2036
Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said the bioeconomy development strategy through 2036 has been approved. The document sets out the sector's priorities for the years ahead.

Russia's bioeconomy development strategy through 2036 has been approved. The announcement was made by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, speaking at the Bioprom forum held in Gelendzhik.
"First of all, we now have a long-term framework, referring to the bioeconomy development strategy, which was approved right on the eve of our forum," Manturov said.
Strategy Priorities
The First Deputy Prime Minister listed the document's main directions. According to him, they concern strengthening the domestic technological base, deep processing of bioresources, creating new markets and expanding the use of biotechnology in traditional industries.

Manturov stressed that hundreds of Russian enterprises and organisations are already working in these areas.
National Project and Financing
In early September, a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said the Russian bioeconomy development strategy through 2036 had been submitted to the government for review, with its approval expected in the near future.
According to the explanatory note to the draft federal budget for the next three-year period, financing of the national bioeconomy project in 2027–2029 is planned at around 12 billion rubles.
The national project "Technological Support for the Bioeconomy" was approved in late 2025. It includes three basic federal projects: "Organising Production and Stimulating Sales of Bioeconomy Products," "Scientific and Technological Support for Bioeconomy Development," and "Analytical, Methodological and Personnel Support for the Bioeconomy."
