Azerbaijan’s oil exports to Switzerland rose threefold

In January–August 2026, Azerbaijan supplied Switzerland with 272,500 tonnes of oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous minerals worth $193.6 million. In volume terms, exports rose threefold compared with the same period in 2025.

The value of oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous minerals exported from Azerbaijan to Switzerland in January–August 2026 amounted to $193.6 million, with supply volumes at 272,500 tonnes. This is evidenced by the customs foreign trade statistics of the State Customs Committee.

Compared with January–August 2025, the figure rose in monetary terms by $139.7 million, or 3.6 times, and in physical terms by 182,800 tonnes, or threefold. In the same period of 2025, 89,700 tonnes of such products worth $53.9 million were exported to Switzerland.

In the reporting period, Switzerland ranked third among countries importing Azerbaijani oil.

In total, over the eight months of 2026, Azerbaijan exported 14.678 million tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous minerals to other countries, worth $9.282 billion.

In value terms, this is $886 million, or 10.6%, more than in the same period of 2025. At the same time, in physical terms, the volume decreased by 1.247 million tonnes, or 7.8%.
