Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that a vessel with 20 Russian citizens on board remains detained in India. She made the statement on October 3.
"Yes, indeed, 20 citizens of the Russian Federation remain on board the detained vessel," she said.
Earlier, the Russian Consulate General in Kolkata reported that the Orissa High Court's ruling on the repatriation of the crew of the tanker Unity, detained in India, is expected next week.
The tanker, sailing under the flag of Cameroon, was detained off the coast of India in May over a commercial dispute related to the shipowner's debt to a local fuel supplier.
Since then, the vessel, with 23 sailors on board, has been anchored near the port of Paradip.
