EU sanctions Sevmash and 26 Russian shipyards, UK targets Iran
The European Union has added Russian shipbuilder Sevmash to its 22nd sanctions package against Russia. Sevmash is the only shipyard of the United Shipbuilding Corporation that builds nuclear submarines.

On 12 October, the EU Council added AO "Production Association 'Northern Machine-Building Enterprise'" (AO PO Sevmash, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) to its 22nd sanctions package against Russia. The corresponding regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
Sevmash is one of Russia's largest shipbuilding complexes. It is the only shipyard within the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) that carries out the full cycle of construction and testing of nuclear submarines.
