About three thousand French police officers held a demonstration in Paris, expressing dissatisfaction with working conditions and the lack of government support. The action took place amid ongoing schoolchildren protests in France.

According to reports, police officers belonging to the Unite trade union gathered for their annual meeting, after which they held a demonstration to express dissatisfaction with working conditions.

A representative of the police trade union Unite in the Ile-de-France region, Reda Belhadj, said that the police do not feel supported and that their image is being tarnished.

Colleagues are fed up, our image is being tarnished right now, we do not feel supported

He also noted that 937 law enforcement officers were injured during the ongoing protests in the country, emphasizing that “this does not happen in any other country.”

High school students in France have been protesting en masse for several weeks over overcrowded schedules, a shortage of teachers and other problems in the education sector. Some actions were accompanied by disorder.
