Georgia and Slovakia sign memorandum on cooperation in education
The Ministers of Education of Georgia and Slovakia have agreed to establish a working group to implement joint initiatives in the educational and scientific spheres.

The Ministries of Education of Georgia and Slovakia have concluded a memorandum aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. The official signing of the document took place during the Georgian delegation's working visit to Slovakia.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, and the Minister of Education, Science, Research, Development and Youth of Slovakia, Tomas Drucker.
Under the reached agreements, the parties intend to develop the exchange of experience and best practices, as well as facilitate the establishment of close ties between educational and scientific organizations in both countries. Special attention in the memorandum is paid to expanding educational opportunities for youth.
To effectively implement the provisions of the document, the ministers agreed to create a special working group that will coordinate joint initiatives. During the meeting, Givi Mikanadze briefed his colleague on current reforms in the Georgian education system aimed at meeting modern standards and invited Tomas Drucker to visit Georgia.
Givi Mikanadze's working visit to Slovakia began on September 7, 2026. In addition to bilateral negotiations, the trip program includes the minister's participation in the PISA 2026 regional conference, where he will present a report on the achievements of Georgia's education system.
