Ilham Aliyev Receives New Ambassadors of Sweden and Estonia in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Sweden's new ambassador, Luis Morsing, on September 23. The sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Sweden's new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, Luis Morsing, on September 23. The diplomat presented his credentials to the head of state, after which a meeting was held.
Ilham Aliyev expressed hope for the further successful development of bilateral relations and the identification of new areas of cooperation. He noted the importance of mutual visits and meetings at various levels, as well as opportunities for partnership in the investment, trade and business sectors.
Luis Morsing thanked the president for receiving him and said he would work to further expand relations between the two countries. He congratulated Ilham Aliyev on achievements related to the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia and welcomed steps to strengthen trust between the sides.
The ambassador also noted that a large number of Azerbaijani students are studying in Sweden and expressed hope that they would contribute to developing ties between Azerbaijan and Sweden in the future. Morsing separately highlighted the positive dynamics in Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union and the resumption of negotiations on a bilateral agreement.
The diplomat also highly valued the humanitarian assistance Azerbaijan provides to Ukraine.
During the meeting, Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan itself is the initiator and author of the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and described the peace achieved between the two countries as unprecedented in the world.
The president also noted the state of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union and recalled visits to the country by European Council President António Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, as well as meetings with them at international events.
The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for developing relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden and discussed issues of mutual interest.
