In round 7 of the Swiss Super League, Lugano, featuring Uzbekistan national team defender Behruz Karimov, secured a 3-1 away victory over Basel. The first half ended goalless.
The opening goal came in the 47th minute after a precise strike by Metinho put the hosts ahead. In the 59th minute, Yanis Cimignani restored parity. Late in the match, goals from Uran Bislimi and Ahmad Kendouci secured the win for the visitors.
