Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov met with Viorel Gutu, Assistant Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on ensuring the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the country, further strengthening food security, new support mechanisms for agricultural producers, and issues arising from the “State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fishery and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030”.
The meeting highlighted the importance of projects implemented in cooperation with FAO, and the prospects for cooperation were discussed. The sides noted the importance of continuing cooperation within the framework of the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program (FATP), emphasizing that the projects being implemented would make an important contribution to the development of the country's agricultural sector.
