New construction work near a residential complex in the Bayil settlement of Baku's Sabail district has sparked complaints from some local residents.
According to information obtained by F4media.az, the proximity of some buildings of the nearly completed "Rahat Hayat" residential complex to surrounding structures near the "Sabah Residence" complex is causing concern among residents.
Residents state that the dense placement of residential buildings in the area leads to restricted courtyard and recreation zones, parking problems, and a lack of children's playgrounds.
According to them, due to the short distance between some buildings, apartment windows are located very close to each other. This creates discomfort in terms of both personal privacy and living conditions.
Residents also believe that the close proximity of the buildings could create additional safety risks during potential emergencies.
"There is neither a normal courtyard here, nor a place for children to play, nor enough space to park cars. The area is very dense. The windows of some buildings face each other. There should be wider open spaces for people to move comfortably and breathe," the residents said.
In their opinion, when designing new residential complexes, the distance between buildings, courtyard areas, green zones, parking lots, and playgrounds intended for children should be taken into greater consideration.
Although F4media.az waited until the end of the day for the relevant construction permit documents to be provided, the documents were not sent to the editorial office.
An inquiry regarding the issue was also addressed to the Sabail District Executive Power. The institution stated that granting permission for construction work in multi-apartment residential buildings does not fall under the authority of local executive power bodies.
In response to an inquiry addressed to the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, it was stated that the matter would be investigated.
