District-wide commemoration event held in Samukh on Remembrance Day

On 27 September 2026, in the city of Samukh, in front of the Samukh Martyrs Complex, a district-wide event dedicated to 27 September – Remembrance Day was held.
The event was attended by the head of the Samukh District Executive Authority, Firdovsi Aliyev, families of martyrs, veterans, war participants, staff of the Executive Authority Apparatus, heads and staff of law-enforcement bodies, departments, institutions and organisations, and representatives of the district public.

First, the participants honoured the cherished memory of our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our homeland with deep respect and boundless gratitude. As a mark of respect for the souls of the martyrs, flower bouquets were laid in front of the Samukh Martyrs Complex, and their cherished memory was commemorated with reverence.

The historic Victory achieved in the Patriotic War was written in golden letters in our history as a result of the purposeful policy implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the strong state–army unity and the heroism of the Azerbaijani Army. The consistent policy pursued under the leadership of the head of state towards the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and historical justice further strengthened the unity of our people. The Great Victory achieved at the cost of the blood of our martyrs constitutes one of the most honourable pages in the chronicle of statehood of the Azerbaijani people.

At 12:00, the cherished memory of all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence. In this connection, the movement of vehicles and pedestrians was stopped across the district, and vehicle horns were sounded as a mark of respect for the memory of the martyrs.
