Tests of new Ukrainian interceptor drones designed to counter Russian jet unmanned aerial vehicles, conducted in July, ended in failure. Numerous UAV manufacturers were involved in the test flights, but the trials did not go as planned.
The main technical issue was the difficulty in controlling the interceptors at speeds exceeding 400 kilometers per hour. Due to loss of control during the tests, some of the drones crashed into nearby fields and forested areas.
The test results highlighted the scale of challenges facing Ukraine's defense system amid a shortage of Western-made air defense systems and the continuous advancement of drone technology.
