Uzbekistan Trains Aviation Specialists Jointly with South Korea
Uzbekistan and South Korea have stepped up joint training of civil aviation specialists, with over 150 Uzbek students enrolled at Korea Aerospace University.

Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea are expanding cooperation in civil aviation specialist training. Over 150 citizens of Uzbekistan are currently studying across eight disciplines at Korea Aerospace University (KAU), according to the country's Ministry of Transport.
Educational programme details
Studies are conducted at bachelor's and master's degree levels. Students are enrolled in Flight Operations, Air Traffic Control, Aviation Management, Air Transport Logistics, Service Management, Aviation Business, IT Technologies and Cybersecurity, as well as a Cabin Crew programme for flight attendants. Cooperation with KAU aims to train pilots, managers, and logistics specialists in line with international standards.
Talks and graduate employment
During a visit to South Korea, Uzbekistan's Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov met with Korea Aerospace University President Hur Hee-young. The parties discussed the implementation of joint educational programmes, expanding student intake, and KAU's participation in the operation of a Flight School being established in Uzbekistan, including recruiting flight instructors and supplying training aircraft.
Ilkhom Makhkamov also held a meeting with Uzbek KAU students to discuss study conditions and job prospects back home. Discussions covered vacancies at national airlines and the airports of New Tashkent and Urgench, as well as flight practice at the new Flight School.
