Trump Confuses Brazil With India in Truth Social Post
Donald Trump published a post on Truth Social about the elections, confusing Brazil with India, after which he deleted it and posted a corrected version.

US President Donald Trump confused Brazil with India in a post about the elections that he published on his social network Truth Social.
In the post, the American leader wrote that 125 million people voted in the first round of India's presidential elections and that the results were announced the same day.
What elections in India did not take place
No elections were held in India that day. The country's president, Droupadi Murmu, has held the office since July 2022. In addition, the position is not filled by direct vote but by an electoral college made up of members of both houses of parliament and state assemblies.
The number of voters cited by Trump matches data on the results of the first round of Brazil's presidential elections. Voting there ended at 17:00 local time, and results began to be published immediately after polling stations closed.
In the second round on 25 October, incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, will face each other. Neither of them won more than 50%.
After publication, Trump deleted the original post on Truth Social and, two minutes later, posted a corrected version.
