21 New Vocational Education Institutions to Be Built in Azerbaijan in 2026–2030
In Azerbaijan, the construction of 21 new vocational education institutions and major overhauls of two more are planned for the 2026–2030 period.

It is planned to build 21 new vocational education institutions in Azerbaijan between 2026 and 2030. In addition, two existing vocational education institutions will undergo major overhauls. Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev announced this at a press conference dedicated to the new academic year.
According to the minister, interest in vocational education has grown significantly in recent years. Compared to 2021, enrollment in vocational education institutions has doubled. Meanwhile, the number of individuals receiving vocational education grew by 70 percent across the 2021–2025/2026 academic years.
According to the released statistics, women currently account for 39 percent of those enrolled in vocational education.
Along with expanding educational infrastructure, four new specialties are planned to be added to vocational education programs starting from the 2026–2027 academic year. The new specialties will cover fields such as "greenhouse operator," "procurement organization," "geodesy and cartography," and "food processing technology."
The main goal of establishing these new specialties is to train workforce aligned with labor market demands and to reduce specialist shortages in various fields. These specialties will particularly serve to meet staffing needs in the agricultural sector, industry, logistics, construction, and the food industry.
