Azerbaijan and Moldova national theatres sign cooperation memorandum
A cooperation memorandum has been signed between the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre and the Eugen Ionesco National Theatre of the Republic of Moldova.

A cooperation memorandum has been signed between the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre and the Eugen Ionesco National Theatre of the Republic of Moldova.
The memorandum was signed by Ilham Asgarov, director of the Academic National Drama Theatre and Honoured Cultural Worker, and Valeriu Pahomi, director of the Eugen Ionesco National Theatre and People's Artist.
At the ceremony, Moldova's Minister of Culture Dan Suruceanu praised the development of cultural ties between the two countries. He said the initiative of the Academic National Drama Theatre would make an important contribution to the development of both theatres.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova, Ulvi Bakhshaliyev, noted that the embassy stands ready to support the expansion of creative ties between the two theatres.
Ilham Asgarov spoke about the Academic National Drama Theatre's international ties and the projects it has carried out. He said that developing international cooperation between national theatres is one of the main priority areas of theatrical art.
According to the theatre director, memorandums on cooperation have already been signed with the national theatres of nine countries. This cooperation framework envisages the promotion of national dramaturgy, exchanges of performances, directors and actors, as well as the holding of festivals, conferences and master classes.
Petru Vutkereu, artistic director of the Eugen Ionesco National Theatre, People's Artist and director, recalled the production of the same name he staged at the Academic National Drama Theatre in 2012 based on the work "Shakespeare" by People's Writer Elchin, and shared his fond impressions of the Azerbaijani theatre company.
