Dyson introduces CameraJet electric toothbrush with built-in camera

Dyson has expanded its personal care lineup by introducing the CameraJet electric toothbrush. The device combines the functions of a classic toothbrush and an irrigator, automatically detecting interdental spaces and directing a stream of rinse fluid into them.

The toothbrush's technical components include a 100,000-pixel macro camera that records at 28 frames per second. A machine learning system analyzes the captured images and activates fluid delivery to the detected areas within 100 milliseconds. The built-in 12.5 ml reservoir features a system that ensures stable fluid delivery at any angle of the device.

Users can sync the CameraJet with the MyDyson app to view the camera feed in real time. The app also provides recommendations on brushing techniques and reports on the cleaning quality of different areas of the oral cavity. According to Dyson, camera data is not stored on the device or in cloud storage.

Sales of the system began on September 1. The kit costs $499 and includes the toothbrush itself, a charging dock, a travel case, and branded toothpaste and mouthwash. The latter are sold separately for $11.50 each and, according to the manufacturer, are designed so that the foam does not interfere with the camera's operation.

The release of the new product has sparked mixed reactions on social media: users are discussing the high cost of the gadget and the practicality of using a camera during oral hygiene, comparing the device's effectiveness to traditional dental floss.
