Fifth Shaki International Theatre Festival concludes
On the festival's final day, the Uzbek State Youth Theatre presented the play "Masharaboz-Show". The production was directed by Honoured Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan Malika Iskandarova, with Yevgeniya Biserova as set designer. On the festival's final day, the Uzbek State Youth Theatre presented the play "Masharaboz-Show".
The production was directed by Honoured Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan Malika Iskandarova, with Yevgeniya Biserova as set designer. The roles were performed by Bahodir Ahmadov, Naufal Suleymanov, Asgar Hikmatov, Fayzulla Asgarov and Bakhtiyar Turgunov.
The play, which presented the customs and traditions of the Uzbek people with humour, wit and exuberance, was met with great interest and applause from the audience.
After the performance, the festival's symbol was presented to director Malika Iskandarova by Boyukhanim Talibova, head of the Performing Arts Sector of the Fine Arts Policy Department of the Ministry of Culture.
Subsequently, a representative of the Shaki City Executive Authority presented a letter of thanks to Zulfiya Khamrayeva, director of the Uzbek State Youth Theatre.
Ilham Asgarov, director of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre and Honoured Cultural Worker, presented the "Golden Curtain" award to the creative teams of the festival's guest theatres – the Nartay Bekezhanov Kyzylorda Regional Kazakh Academic Musical Drama Theatre, the Uzbek State Youth Theatre and the Ardabil Moghan Honar Theatre. Speaking at the event, Ilham Asgarov discussed the significance of the Fifth Shaki International Theatre Festival and noted the important role the festival plays in the development of Azerbaijani theatre art.
Thus, the Fifth Shaki International Theatre Festival, which lasted five days, has come to an end. Within the framework of the festival, theatre companies from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Azerbaijan performed various plays in Shaki.
Along with bringing together various examples of theatrical art, the festival also contributed to the development of cultural ties and creative cooperation between countries.
