Hatay basketball referees meet to prepare for new season

According to our special correspondent in Turkey, Huseyn Zorkun, in a report for F4Media.az, basketball referees working in Hatay gathered for their first meeting ahead of the new season.

The meeting was held under the leadership of Cemil Bizim, the representative of the Turkish Basketball Federation in Hatay. FIBA referee Huseyn Celik, journalist and press adviser to the Basketball Hatay Provincial Representative Office Huseyn Zorkun, as well as referees and candidate referees, took part.

The meeting discussed preparations for the new season, referees' duties, training and issues related to the organization of games. Cemil Bizim wished the referees success and stressed the importance of active participation in training sessions and matches. He particularly recommended that young and candidate referees take part in more games.

Bizim noted that referee appointments would be handled more systematically in the new season and that cooperation among clubs, coaches and sports organizations would be strengthened. Basketball games in Hatay are planned to begin in October.

After the meeting, journalist Huseyn Zorkun was reappointed as press adviser to the Basketball Hatay Provincial Representative Office. He will also serve as a court commissioner at games to be held in Hatay. Cemil Bizim wished Zorkun success in his new duties.

The meeting concluded after discussions on preparations for the season and an exchange of views.
