President Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Sabah FC on Victory

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent an official congratulatory message to Sabah Football Club on the occasion of the team reaching the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.

In his message, published on the head of state's social media page on X, the president noted the historic significance of this achievement for domestic sports.

"I heartily congratulate Sabah Football Club on securing a magnificent victory and qualifying for the main stage of the UEFA Champions League. It brings special joy and pride that a newly created team has achieved such a great success in a short period of time. The fact that our country's clubs have earned the right to compete in the main stage of the world's strongest club tournament for the second consecutive year is another clear indication of Azerbaijan's progress in all fields and the strengthening of our country's status as a sporting nation. I wish Sabah FC further victories and success in their upcoming matches!"

The head of state emphasized that the success of the newly established team in a short period brings special pride. According to him, the right of the country's clubs to compete for the second consecutive time in the world's main club tournament demonstrates Azerbaijan's overall progress and the consolidation of its status as a sporting nation.
