Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy extended words of gratitude to Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev for congratulating Ukraine on its 35th anniversary of independence.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for congratulations on the 35th anniversary of Ukrainian independence. The Ukrainian leader announced this on his page on X, publishing a photo of the congratulatory letter from the Azerbaijani head of state.
“Mr. President, thank you for your sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. Azerbaijan's position on Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity has always been resolute, and we have always deeply appreciated this,” Zelenskyy wrote.
In his message, the Ukrainian leader emphasized that Azerbaijan's stance regarding Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity has always remained principled and unwavering.
According to Zelenskyy, over many years the two sides have been developing time-tested economic cooperation, opening new opportunities in energy and security, and providing each other with necessary assistance.
“I am confident that the friendship, mutual respect, and strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen further,” the President of Ukraine concluded.
