The "Karabakh Hackathon 2026", dedicated to the Year of Urban Planning and Architecture, is being held as part of the "Rebuild Karabakh" exhibition at the Baku Expo Center on October 14–16, 2026.
Organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture with the support of a number of private companies, the hackathon serves to develop innovative solutions contributing to the development of the liberated territories, promote investment opportunities and create a digital platform in this direction.
52 students representing 13 higher education institutions are participating in the hackathon. Within the framework of the assigned task, participants are preparing the concept of a platform that brings together investment competitions and project opportunities related to the liberated districts.
During the competition, which lasts 44 hours 44 minutes 44 seconds, students work in teams, develop their ideas, prepare a functional model of the solutions they propose and present their projects.
The hackathon is aimed at supporting innovative ideas, developing the practical skills of young people and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and the business sector. About 10 representatives of acceleration and incubation centers are participating as mentors in the 3-day hackathon and supporting the teams with their recommendations.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elchin Zeynalov, who attended the official opening of the hackathon, emphasized that such initiatives are important in terms of increasing young people's interest in the agricultural sector, developing the agricultural startup ecosystem and promoting the application of digital solutions in agriculture.
Note that at the end of the competition, the presented projects will be evaluated, and the teams taking the first three places will be awarded from the prize fund.
