First ruling issued in Ramiz Mehdiyev criminal case

Today at the Baku Court for Grave Crimes, a preliminary hearing was held in the criminal case of former Presidential Administration head Ramiz Mehdiyev and his former assistant Eldar Amirov.
During the proceedings chaired by Judge Murad Aslanov, the defendants' personal data were verified and their procedural rights and obligations were explained.
The court created the necessary conditions for the realization of the defendants' right to defense and other procedural guarantees.
By court decision, the criminal case has been scheduled for trial.
It should be noted that a criminal case against Ramiz Mehdiyev was opened in October 2025 at the State Security Service. He is charged under Articles 193-1.3.2 (legalization of criminally obtained property), 274 (treason against the state), and 278.1 (actions aimed at forcible seizure of power or forcible change of the state's constitutional order) of the Criminal Code.
Eldar Amirov is also listed as a defendant in the same criminal case.
