The Global Summit on Investment in Children's Welfare took place in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). More than 600 people from over 100 countries took part in the event. Among them were representatives of government bodies, officials of UN agencies and specialists in child rights protection.

Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, took part in the opening of the summit. According to the organisers, the discussion focused on ways to improve medical care, education and child protection.

Among the key topics, participants named childhood cancer, child poverty, children's mental health and the social isolation of children.
