State Border Service of Azerbaijan reports on drug seizures in August 2026
In August 2026, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan seized over 266 kg of drugs and more than 5,000 pills from illegal circulation.

The State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan has released statistics on the fight against drug trafficking for August 2026. According to official data from the agency, as a result of operational measures, 266 kilograms and 873 grams of narcotic substances were seized from circulation.
In addition to plant-based and powdered drugs, service personnel discovered and confiscated 5,236 pills of various compositions.
The agency also highlighted a specific case of smuggling prevention, in which an unmanned aerial vehicle was used to transport prohibited substances. Using a drone, criminals attempted to smuggle 28 kilograms and 500 grams of drugs.
