Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Friday that he plans to resign on 25 or 26 September. He intends to spend the final month before the parliamentary elections as an ordinary citizen.

Parliamentary elections in Serbia are scheduled for 25 October. Earlier, on Wednesday, the head of state dissolved the country's parliament.
In early September, the leadership of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party proposed nominating Aleksandar Vucic as the candidate for prime minister if the party wins the upcoming elections.
