The Kremlin considers US President Donald Trump's proposal to conclude an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine a good initiative. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated this on September 15, 2026, emphasizing that Moscow advocates for peaceful solutions.
We have seen President Trump's publication regarding an energy truce. We certainly consider it, on the whole, a very good idea.
At the same time, the Kremlin representative confirmed that an attempted strike on an energy facility in one of Russia's regions was recorded overnight. Earlier, an attempted attack on an oil refinery in the Samara region was reported.
Energy market situation and sanctions
Touching upon the situation in the global fuel market, Dmitry Peskov noted that the safe operation of Russian oil refineries does not in itself solve global problems with petroleum products. According to him, the key cause of the difficulties lies in restrictions on product exports.
The Russian presidential press secretary expressed confidence that lifting sanctions on energy supplies would help saturate the global market and reduce prices. He also added that Russia is capable of fully supplying its domestic market with petroleum products, and comprehensive work is already underway in the country to protect energy facilities and stabilize the market.
