Russia has concluded 51 international agreements on human rights protection with various countries, State Duma MP Yana Lantratova reported during a speech at the 'Znanie.Pervye' marathon as part of the International Youth Festival.
The lawmaker noted that human rights ombudsman institutions have also been established and are operating in the festival's participating countries.
“We initiated the creation of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance. We are a member of the European Ombudsman Institute,” she stated.
According to Lantratova, cooperation between states can develop within youth councils, through regular exchanges of experience and the holding of specialized forums.
Context of the Festival
The International Youth Festival is taking place in Yekaterinburg from September 11 to 17. The event brought together 10,000 participants from 191 countries, including 5,000 foreign citizens, among them 1,000 teenagers aged 14 to 17.
In total, over 113,000 applications were received for participation this year. For the first time, the number of applications from foreign participants exceeded the number of applications from Russia by 32,000. The festival program covers educational, sports, and cultural tracks, as well as specialized tracks for volunteer, media, and social initiatives.
