Aqil Alasgar Awarded Tokayev Order at International Conference in Kazakhstan

Aqil Alasgar, a member of the Board of the Azerbaijani Press Council, vice-chairman of the Turkic Internet Media Association and head of "Yeni Çağ" Media Group, took part in an international conference held in Kazakhstan. During the visit, he was awarded the Kemal Tokayev Order.
The event, held in the city of Almaty, was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the world-renowned Kazakh poet and public figure Olzhas Suleimenov. It was held within the framework of the IX International Conference "Support for the Culture of Knowledge".
The conference, devoted to the theme "The Intellectual History of Central Asia in the Second Half of the 20th Century," serves as an important international platform for the in-depth study of the scientific, historical and cultural ties of Central Asia and the Turkic world, and for passing their intellectual heritage on to future generations.
Within the framework of the conference, Aqil Alasgar met with representatives of the media and civil society of the Turkic world. During the meetings, he expressed the position that our country occupies an important place in the Turkic world.
During the visit, Aqil Alasgar was awarded the Kemal Tokayev Order "Kemal Ata Kemenger" for his contributions to the development of media and civil society in the Turkic world, as well as to the strengthening of friendly relations.
The award was presented to the journalist by Saltanat Ashimova, deputy director of the Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures operating under UNESCO, which is headed by Olzhas Suleimenov.
Recall that Kemal Tokayev, whose name the order bears, is a well-known Kazakh writer, a participant in World War II and the father of the current President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
