Business Forum in Baku

On October 12, an Azerbaijani-Czech business forum was held in Baku, aimed at developing economic and business ties and expanding opportunities for cooperation between companies of the two countries.

Czech companies from various sectors were presented at the forum. According to the profiles presented, the Czech side proposed opportunities for cooperation in areas such as transport, railway infrastructure, aviation, logistics, the defence industry, engineering, industrial technologies and financial services.

“We see Azerbaijan as our key partner in the region. Our goal is not only to strengthen bilateral cooperation but also to view Azerbaijan as an important centre for broader activity in the region,” said Radek Špicar, Vice President of the Czech Confederation of Industry and Transport.

According to him, the high level of relations and the intensity of cooperation between the two countries rest on long-standing historical ties dating back to the era of Czechoslovakia. This cooperation is reflected both in goods exported from Azerbaijan to Czechia and in Czech exporters' desire to expand their positions in the Azerbaijani market. He also noted that Czechia views Azerbaijan as one of its main partners and business centres in the region.
