On August 31, the official opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.
The World Nomad Games are positioned as an international platform aimed at preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage, ancient traditions, and national values of nomadic civilizations. One of the key goals of the games is to promote ideas of friendship, unity, and mutual respect among nations.
The event program includes competitions in traditional sports historically developed by nomadic peoples, specifically horse racing, wrestling, and archery. Furthermore, the games, which will run until September 6, will feature the cultural traditions and heritage of the participating countries.
