Israel and Greece sign 3 billion euro defense contract
Israel will supply Greece with David's Sling, SPYDER, and BARAK MX systems as part of the largest defense agreement in the history of bilateral relations.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced the signing of a large-scale agreement with Greece aimed at creating a multi-layered air defense system. The contract, dubbed "Achilles Shield," is valued at 3 billion euros. The document was signed in Tel Aviv by the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Eyal Zamir, and his Greek counterpart, Ioannis Bouras.
Under the terms of the deal, Greece will receive a comprehensive defense system, including David's Sling and SPYDER systems manufactured by Rafael, as well as BARAK MX from Israel Aerospace Industries. This marks the first time Israel has supplied another country with a complete defense complex capable of countering a wide range of threats, including ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Israeli defense establishment emphasized that the project draws on operational experience gained by Israeli forces during current combat operations. In addition to the main system, the parties concluded a supplementary agreement worth 26 million euros for the supply of Drone Dome counter-drone systems.
Beyond the supply of finished equipment, the agreement involves expanding industrial cooperation, including the transfer of technology and knowledge to Greek enterprises. The ministry noted that this deal is the largest in the history of defense exports between the two countries and confirms Greece's status as Israel's strategic partner in the Eastern Mediterranean.
