Azerbaijan plans to launch two green energy corridors by 2032
Azerbaijan intends to launch the initial phases of two green energy corridors starting from 2032 to export clean energy resources.

Azerbaijan will begin operating two green energy corridors starting in 2032. Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov announced this during the opening ceremony of Baku Climate Week 2026.
According to the minister, supplying green energy to international markets through regional and interregional connectivity is a strategic priority. The progress was facilitated by the completion of a feasibility study for the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe green energy corridor with a total capacity of 3,900 MW.
"Starting from 2032, the first phase of this corridor, as well as the Central Asia–Azerbaijan corridor, are expected to become operational," Parviz Shahbazov stated.
At the same time, concrete measures are being taken to develop new routes toward Turkey and Europe via Georgia, the Zangezur corridor, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The energy interconnections being developed are designed to strengthen interregional energy security and reduce emissions beyond the country's borders.
The head of the ministry also noted that at COP31, which will be held under the presidency of Turkey, issues of transitioning to clean energy and electrification will remain key priorities, continuing the legacy of COP29.
