Egyptian TV Presenter Sentenced to Death in Drug Case
A Cairo criminal court has sentenced Egyptian TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others to death in a case involving the production and distribution of synthetic drugs.

A Cairo criminal court has sentenced TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 other people to death for establishing an organized criminal group involved in the production and distribution of synthetic illicit drugs.
According to judicial authorities, a total of 28 people were implicated in the case. Nine defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment, while seven were acquitted.
The investigation established that the group imported raw materials for drug production from abroad. During the probe, authorities seized more than 750 kg of drugs and raw materials, and also discovered illegal weapons and ammunition in two houses.
The 39-year-old Khalifa, known in Egypt as the host of the program "Mission Impossible", completely rejected all the charges.
