In the Turkish province of Hatay, a man who climbed onto the cliffs at Karamağara Cove to fish slipped and was injured. Rescuers saved him, and he was handed over to medics, according to a report by the broadcaster CNN TÜRK.

The incident occurred at about 07:30 at Karamağara Cove, located in the Yayladağı district of Hatay province. The man lost his balance on a rocky section of the shoreline by the sea, fell from a height and was injured.

After witnesses reported the incident, firefighters from the Fire Department of the Metropolitan Municipality of Büyükşehir and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Because of the difficult terrain, rescuers began an operation. Using a rope and special stretchers, they reached the injured man. According to the broadcaster, the rescue took about one hour. The man was then lifted and handed over to medics waiting at the scene.

He was first given medical aid at the scene. He was then taken by ambulance to the Yayladağı State Hospital, where treatment began.
