Levon Kocharyan Comments on Kremlin Statements Ahead of Putin-Pashinyan Meeting in Bishkek

Statements made ahead of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Bishkek regarding the arrests of Armenian opposition figures are telling, Levon Kocharyan, an MP from the opposition 'Armenia' faction, told reporters.
Commenting on whether the potential arrest of his father, second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, was discussed during the closed meeting between the two leaders, the lawmaker emphasized that he had no such information. According to him, he also has no information regarding the specific outcomes of the talks.
Earlier, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov stated that a separate topic of discussion at the Bishkek meeting between Putin and Pashinyan could be the arrests of representatives and leaders of the Armenian opposition who advocated for traditional good-neighborly relations with Russia. The Kremlin spokesman noted that such actions by the Armenian leadership cause 'great concern' in Moscow.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a congratulatory telegram to Armenia's second President, Robert Kocharyan.
