The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has published a report on the progress of the special military operation as of August 26, 2026.
Units of the 'Sever' (North) group of forces established control over the settlement of Pisarevka in the Sumy region following decisive actions. In addition, strikes were inflicted on manpower and equipment of two mechanized, two airmobile brigades of the AFU, and a territorial defence brigade in the areas of Tolstodubovo, Proletarskoye, Sadki, and Kiyanitsa in the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv region, formations of two mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry brigade, an assault regiment, an unmanned systems battalion of the AFU, three territorial defence brigades, and a National Guard brigade were engaged in the areas of Prikolotnoye, Buzovo, Tsupovka, Novoalexandrovka, Liptsy, and Slatino. AFU losses in this direction amounted to up to 240 military personnel, a tank, and 14 vehicles.
Units of the 'Zapad' (West) group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, inflicting losses on manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades, an assault brigade of the AFU, and territorial defence brigades in the areas of Proletarskoye and Vyssheye Solenoye in the Kharkiv region, as well as Bogorodichnoye, Sidorovo, Mayaki, Raygorodok, and Svyatogorsk in the DPR. The enemy lost up to 210 military personnel, two US-manufactured HMMWV armored vehicles, 17 pickup trucks, and an electronic warfare station.
Units of the 'Yug' (South) group of forces improved their forward edge position and struck formations of three mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry, an assault, an airmobile, a mountain assault brigade, and an unmanned systems battalion of the AFU in the areas of Kramatorsk, Slaviansk, Druzhkovka, Krasny Molochar, Nikolayevka, Semenovka, and Alexeyevo-Druzhkovka in the DPR. Enemy losses exceeded 215 military personnel, with 25 vehicles and four field artillery guns also destroyed.
Units of the 'Tsentr' (Center) group of forces continued advancing deep into the enemy's defence. Strikes were inflicted on manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades, a jaeger brigade of the AFU, a marine brigade, and four National Guard brigades in the areas of Rayskoye, Andreyevka, Druzhkovka, Slavianka, Novogrigorovka, Novotroitskoye, Belozerskoye, Dobropolye, and Roganskoye in the DPR. Losses of Ukrainian formations amounted to more than 365 military personnel, a 'Kozak' armored combat vehicle, five vehicles, an artillery gun, and a radar station.
Units of the 'Vostok' (East) group of forces liberated the settlement of Nezhenka in the Zaporozhye region as a result of active operations. Strikes were inflicted on formations of two assault, two air assault brigades, three assault regiments, an unmanned systems battalion of the AFU, and a marine brigade in the areas of Malinovka, Malomikhailovka, Ivanovka, and Vasilkovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region, as well as Obshcheye, Barvinovka, and Omelnik in the Zaporozhye region. The enemy lost over 345 military personnel, two armored combat vehicles, and three vehicles.
Units of the 'Dnepr' group of forces struck manpower and equipment of a mechanized and a mountain assault brigade of the AFU in the areas of Orekhov, Dimitrovo, Novoyakovlevka, Chervonaya Krinitsa, and Preobrazhenka in the Zaporozhye region. Up to 30 military personnel, 32 vehicles, a 122-mm D-30 howitzer, and three electronic warfare stations were destroyed.
Operational-tactical aviation, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops, and artillery struck logistics centers, fuel and energy, transport, and port infrastructure facilities of Ukraine, ammunition depots, drone assembly workshops and storage sites, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian formations and foreign mercenaries in 141 areas. Air defence systems shot down 12 guided aerial bombs, a HIMARS rocket, three 'Flamingo' long-range cruise missiles, and 798 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
