Turkish and British air force commanders carry out joint flight over Konya
Turkish Air Force Commander Rafet Dalkıran received his British counterpart Sir Harv Smyth in Ankara, after which both carried out a joint flight on F-4 jets over Konya.

Turkish Air Force Commander General Rafet Dalkıran and Royal Air Force Commander Sir Harv Smyth met in Ankara and then carried out a joint flight over Konya. Turkish media reported this on 28 September 2026.
After the meeting in Ankara, both commanders headed to the 3rd Main Air Base in Konya. There they donned flight gear and took their seats in the cockpits of F-4 fighter jets.

After greeting each other, Dalkıran and Smyth carried out a joint formation flight in the skies over Konya. According to the Turkish side, the manoeuvre was performed with F-4 jets.
A whole range of cooperation areas in the defence industry is in place between Turkey and the United Kingdom. Among the key ones is the procurement of Eurofighter fighter jets.
