British police are investigating an alleged bomb plot at RAF Fairford, an airbase used by the US Air Force. Iran is suspected of involvement in the preparations. This is stated in a report.
The investigation is being conducted by counterterrorism police. The inquiry is linked to an incident near the base in the village of Welford, located next to the airbase.
RAF Fairford is located in the southwest of England, in Fairford. In recent months, security at the site had already been reinforced. After the base drew attention due to the arrival of American bombers, protective screens were installed along part of the perimeter.
