Forest fire contained in Turkey’s Mersin
Emergency services have contained a forest fire in Turkey's Mersin province and are conducting cooling operations to prevent reignition.

A forest fire threatening natural areas in Turkey's Mersin province has been brought under control. The blaze broke out the previous day in a forested area in the Bozyazı district, near waste-burning greenhouses in the Aksaz area.
Firefighting efforts continued on the ground throughout the night, carried out by personnel from the Regional Forestry Directorate and the metropolitan municipality's fire brigades. At daybreak, aviation units joined the operation.
To extinguish the blaze, 230 personnel, 2 planes, 5 helicopters, and ground vehicles were dispatched to the scene.
Emergency services are currently conducting cooling operations at the site to prevent the fire from reigniting.
